To configure (verb): give shape to.
Configuration king (noun): a person able to competently configure a large number of machines, ultimately to mould guest satisfaction.
Configuration kings are immensely useful. You become a configuration king by playing around with things, and being curious, and not supposing you already know how to use something.There are likely to be many television handsets. This will happen because there are lots of televisions, and telvisions are occasionally replaced. If a handset from an old television still works, it is rational to keep it, so that you have a redudancy of handsets.
However, if some handsets do not work on particular televisions, then there is a problem. The problem is that it takes a long time to find the correct handset when you want to re-configure a television. Examples of re-configuring a television include decreasing the volume for a guest or changing the channel for a guest.
There are lots of different lights in the dining room. Some lights need to be configured throughout the day in order to change the mood in the room. For example, once it becomes dark on a winter evening, we can dim the lights to create a more intimate atmosphere for guests.
